《真实的希拉里》读后感wearelivingatanextraordinarymomentinhistory.therearesomedayswheniamveryoptimistic,andthereareotherdays,ihavetoconfess,wheni'mpessimistic.iguessthatjustgoeswiththeterritory.butwhatiamabsolutelyconvincedofisthatourcommonvalues,valuessharedandexemplifiedbyourcountryandbyisrael,aretherightvalues,thevaluesthateveryoneshouldhaveanopportunitytobeexposedtoandtounderstandand,hopefully,toemulate.thereisnootheroptionintheworldthat,astomfriedmansaid,hasbeenflattened.wecancommunicatewitheachother,wecanbetransportedoverlongdistancesquickly,wecanfolloweventsinotherplacesfaraway.andtherefore,weneedtorecognizethatourstruggle,ourongoingstruggleforfreedomanddemocracyistheonlywaythatwecanensurethatinthisshrinking,flattenedworld,ourchildrenwillhaveachanceforpeaceandsecurity.wecannotshrinkfromthedutythatthistimehasimposeduponus.wecanhavegreat--andweshould--greatdebatesanddiscussionsaboutwhatarethebestwaystoproceedandtopursuethesecommonobjectives.weneedthat.weneedthatdebateanddiscussionbecauseweareinunchartedterritory.noonehasalltheanswers,andweneedthecombinedintelligenceandgoodideasofasmanypeopleaspossible.sowhatyouaredoingtodayisnotonlyonbehalfofaipac,notonlyonbehalfofisrael,notonlyonbehalfofthestrongandenduringrelationshipbetweentheunitedstatesandisrael;itistrulyonbehalfofthekindofworldwewantforourchildrenand,forthoseluckyenough,grandchildren.andwecannotgrowweary.thisisalong,arduouspath.israel,israelis,theamericanjewishcommunityandthebroaderdiasporaknowaboutthisstruggleandthispathbetterthanmost.第1页共2页soifweresolvenottogrowweary,buttopursuethesevaluestogether,iamultimatelynotonlyoptimistic,butconfidentthattheworldwillseeabetterandbrighterday,andourchildrenwillthankusformakingitpossible.第2页共2页
