I摘 要 本文是一篇关于小说英译的翻译实践报告。威尔斯是近代杰出的小说家。毕业于皇家理学院。任教于伦敦大学，其中，You cannot be too careful 作品真情实意。是他的一部经典之作，通读这本书的时候，对笔者有很大的教育意义，并且对笔者的人生观有着重大的指导意义。而且本书据有较重的乡土气息，更能锻炼我对文章背景的理解。本报告分为四个部分，第一个部分是报告背景，包括其来源、意义、研究现状、结构。而第二部分则是原作背景介绍，包括有作者简介、主要内容、对原文的分析。第三部分关于实践过程，主要是译前准备工作、翻译难点分析及奈达功能对等理论的介绍与应用。第四部分是笔者的总结，主要包括有在翻译过程中的心得体会、得到的启示教训。在该报告中，译者用尤金奈达的功能翻译理论作为主要理论支撑，同时结合自身的翻译实践经验，采用了多种翻译技巧。希望该报告为此类文本的翻译提供借鉴意义。关键词：翻译实践报告；小说翻译；功能对等理论II AbstractThis is a translation report of prose.
