This article aims to study the impact of big data application on retail business of commercial banks. Through the research, it is concluded that the opportunities brought by big data application to the retail business of commercial banks include greater development of new space, reducing the consumption of operating costs and increasing the income of intermediary business; the challenges include the impact on the realization of bank value and the instability of leading position.
