This paper starts with several elements that lead to the pragmatic failures in cross-cultural communication, such as the differences in cultural origins, the differences in cultural value recognition, the current situation and future trend of the understanding deviation. Nowadays, the focus of Chinese and foreign studies on pragmatics has shifted from the original meaning of pragmatics to the extended meaning.
